IN FOCUS WOMEN IN PROFILE - Viktoria Gridley-Haack

In Focus Women In Profile - Viktoria Gridley-Haack, Canada

What sparked your interest in photography? I’ve always been interested in art & when I moved to a small 500 acre island, nature reserve, in the UK, I picked up my camera that I was given for my 18th birthday. I would walk my dog & take photos of the beauty around me. How long have you been shooting for? I’ve been taking photos on and off since I was a teenager but more seriously, for probably the last 17 years. What is your favourite type of photography? I love all different genres of photography & it’s hard for me to pick a favourite but I’m generally drawn to nature & the landscape. What is in your camera bag? I’m currently using a Nikon Z7, D850 & D4. My go to lens for landscapes is the 14-30 F4 S lens for the Z7. But I have a variety of lenses I love to use. My portrait favourite is the 70-200 2.8. What would your dream kit be? I’m pretty close to having my dream kit already but I’d like to add some longer lenses for wildlife shooting & a few more primes. What software do you use to process your images? I use Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop. Who are you top 3 photography inspirations? There are so many photographers I admire for different reasons. To name a few: Rachael Talibart who shoots mainly beautiful seascapes in the UK. Neil Burnell, another UK photographer who’s woodland & coastal images have an incredible mood to them. I love Elizabeth Gadd’s fabulous self portraits in nature! There are so many photographers I could list whose work is incredibly inspiring. What are you top 3 bucket list locations you want to shoot? I love Canada & could spend years travelling & exploring this country I now call home. I’d love to get back to New Zealand (I spent 6 months travelling there a few years ago). Also, Iceland & Patagonia but again, there are so many places I’d like to get to: Switzerland, Scotland etc. What are you social media handles?
