ROSIE STEGGLES - SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
What sparked your interest in photography?
I have been interested in photography practically my whole life, had my first SLR when I was in high school. Digital Photography has allowed me to have more control over how I want my images to look and so I can create more of a mood in my shots. I'm now interested in learning compositional work and creating a story image from scratch.
How long have you been shooting for?
I have been shooting seriously for about 3 years. Learning how to properly use manual mode and how to edit has changed the way I take photos now.
What is your favourite type of photography?
I love landscape and travel photography but a lot of genres hold some interest for me, eg: architecture, surf, etc (portrait photography scares me the most though).
What is in your camera bag?
I have an F-stop Kashmir bag, Benro Carbon fibre tripod, Canon 5D MKIV, Canon EF 24-70 f/4 lens, Canon EF 70-200 f/4 L USM lens, Canon EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM lens, Canon EF 1.4X III Extender, Canon 70D, Canon EFS 10-22mm, NiSi Filter System
What would your dream kit be?
I am pretty happy with my kit, but would add the Canon EF16-35mm lens. The new Canon EOS R mirrorless would be a great substitution to the 5D for travel.
What software do you use to process your images?
I use Photoshop pretty exclusively to edit my photos.
Who are your top 3 photography inspirations?
Jackie Ranken, her creativity always inspires me and she is married to my great friend and photographer Mike Langford (together they are an amazing team) Adam Williams, his willingness and generosity to share his knowledge of photography and photoshop has definitely helped me in my photography journey. Mieke Boynton, I love her abstract aerials and her points of view on capturing the beauty of the landscape.
What are your top 3 bucket list locations you want to shoot?
I would love to shoot Morocco, Namibia, Mongolia. Anywhere remote overseas and equally road tripping around Australia.
