Learn how to:

  • Use your camera to capture long exposure images at night during VIVID.
  • Photograph light trails, projections and beams.
  • Learn about the uses of the NiSi Natural Night Filter (will have some available to test).
  • How to shoot exposures over 30 seconds.

What you need:

  • Camera capable of shooting in manual mode
  • Mid-range lens (e.g. 24-105mm, 24-70mm, 18-135mm, 16-55mm or an 18-55mm) You may find wide angle lenses may been too wide for these scenes but feel free to bring if you wish.
  • Sturdy tripod (please let us know if you need to borrow one for the shoot)
  • Camera remote or trigger (for shooting exposures over 30 seconds)
  • Fully charged batteries (spares if you have)
  • Memory card with plenty of space
  • Warm clothes with comfortable walking shoes
  • Umbrella incase on wet weather

We will have a small group size of 8 women each workshop.

This workshop will require a medium level of fitness as we could be walking a few km to photograph the lights. We will go to different spots based on crowd levels so each workshop could be slightly different.
